Alissa Lanahan, PT, DPT, AIB-VRC, Cert MDT

Alissa always knew she wanted a career in healthcare, and physical therapy quickly became the perfect fit. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware in 2010, followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Drexel University in 2013. Alissa is a Certified McKenzie MDT Clinician and has completed additional training in utilizing hippotherapy as an intervention for certain patient populations. Alissa is certified in Vestibular and Concussion Management by the American Institute of Balance. She also completed the nationally recognized “Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Based Course,” an intensive six-day educational program cosponsored by Emory University, Duke University and the APTA.

Alissa spearheaded Procare’s Vestibular Program over ten years ago and has served as the Clinical Director of Procare’s first Balance Center since its inception in May 2023. She actively educates therapists and students within Procare on evaluating and treating vestibular and concussion patients.

Outside the clinic, Alissa enjoys yoga, strength training, running, horseback riding, and martial arts. She lives in Bucks County with her husband and their three children.

Freya Finer, PT, DPT, AIB-VRC

Freya is a graduate of North Hunterdon high school. She was inspired to pursue a career in physical therapy following a string of cheerleading injuries. Freya graduated from James Madison University in 2019 with a degree in Health Science. Freya received her doctorate of physical therapy from Kean University in 2023. Prior to attending Kean, she spent time at the ProCare Flemington location as an aide. While completing her doctorate, Freya worked as a doctorate assistant researching vestibular rehabilitation and post-concussion treatment. Freya has earned certifications in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation and is a certified McKenzie clinician.

Kerry Richel, OTR/L, AIB-VRC

Kerry is a Hunterdon County Local, born and raised, who graduated from Hunterdon Central. She went on to pursue both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Seton Hall University, graduating with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2024. Kerry was drawn to the field of occupational therapy due to her love for pediatrics, but has since taken a special interest in vestibular rehab and concussion therapy, since initially working at ProCare Balance as an aide/receptionist.

Since joining ProCare as its first occupational therapist, Kerry has enjoyed treating a variety of neurological conditions (TBI, ALS, Parkinson’s, etc.) and has also earned her certification in vestibular/concussion rehab.

Emily Vandersleen, PT, DPT

Emily is a graduate of Ithaca College, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health Studies with a minor in Exercise and Sports Psychology in 2023. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2025. Emily was a varsity athlete during her time at Ithaca, competing for the swimming and diving team, and has always been inspired to help others from her own experiences with physical therapy.

Emily first joined the Balance Center team as a student during her final clinical rotation. She is excited to return to the team and is planning to complete certifications in vestibular and concussion rehab. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, working out, and spending time with her cat, Prescott!
